Who I amMy name is Becky (Rebecca) Olson. I have a Bachelor of Education specializing in Elementary from the University of Victoria. I am currently finishing my SETS degree (Special Education Teacher Speciality) from Vancouver Island University. I live in Victoria B.C. but teach in the Cowichan Valley School District. I grew up in a small town in the Cowichan Valley called Lake Cowichan. It was there, that found my love for the outdoors. Today, hiking is one of my favourite pass times. I could also easily pass the day by relaxing somewhere on a beach. My passion, however, is simply helping people. Whether this be by just listening to my friends, standing up for someone in need, or by assisting the struggling learners in the classroom. I feel joy in my heart when I'm supporting others.

Teaching History |
For the past two years I have been teaching in the Cowichan Valley School District at Lake Cowichan School. Here, I have had two temporary contracts as a Learning Assistance Teacher for grades 4-7. My job consists of working with struggling learners, primarily with students with learning disabilities. I also teach as a teacher on call, where I am dispatched out to different schools ranging from kindergarten to grade 12. Previously, I have taught Math/Advisory 9. I am currently finishing up the year as an LA/Resource teacher and I have yet to see where next year's journey will take me!
